The personal information we collect on signup

We collect and process the following information:

Name
Email address
Firm name
Firm website
Firm Type (category)
Billing address (should a user make a purchase)

You have the option to add a ‘Firm Description’ once signed up.

Once a registered user, one can see all information by visiting their respective Dashboard. From there a user can see and edit Profile, Account Settings and Billing Address.

Why we have data and how we use it

We will only use the data where the law allows us to. We use data supplied for legitimate business and contractual purposes only.

All of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons:

  • To signup to the SME Market platform;
  • Auto-populate forms for convenience (these can be edited by the user);
  • Send automated emails that inform users how to use the site. Users can unsubscribe from these emails at any point via the respective email, footer;
  • Connect users with listings and those enquiring for the respective listings.

We initially use the information that you have given us in order to verify the firm you work for is eligible for the SME Market platform (see Terms and Conditions for more information). We also use it:

  • Should a user add a listing to the SME Market platform, your contact details will be shared with enquiring users.
  • The same works in reverse, should an enquiring user message the listing owner, their details will also be shared with the listing owner.
  • Users that set up email alerts will receive emails to the email address shared with us.

Please note:

  • It is not possible to contact a user who has added a listing without being an approved member of SME Market.
  • It is not possible to see a list of other users at any time.

We will never sell any data.

How we store your personal information

Your information is securely stored on a recommended server. After conducting our own due diligence of the respective server we deemed the server safe and secure. We will continue to monitor this as part of our procedures.

Your data protection rights

Under data protection law, you have rights including:

Your right of access – You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information.
Your right to rectification – You have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.
Your right to erasure – You have the right to ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances.
Your right to restriction of processing – You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.
Your right to object to processing – You have the the right to object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.
Your right to data portability – You have the right to ask that we transfer the personal information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.

You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you.
